Operation Grange - The Anatomy of Corruption
This case just continues to astonish. We now have both Amaral AND the German Prosecutor's spokesman both claiming that the Portuguese Police continue to believe that the McCann's are responsible. That won't come of any surprise to anyone with even a passing interest in the case except for the fact that as far as Scotland Yard/OG is concerned the Prosecutor is SERIOUSLY OFF MESSAGE. Why? Because the justification David Cameron gave for the bat shit crazy limitation on the remit of OG to look at only 3rd party abductions and basically to ASSUME that the McCanns and their cronies were not involved and ergo telling the truth was that supposedly the McCanns had already been duly investigated by the Portuguese and CLEARED of involvement. We now have the Germans openly admitting that this was NEVER the case, that infact they have believed the parents are involved more or less from the start and continue to do so today. So why did they lift their arguado status let them return to the UK and boot Amaral off the case? Well anyone who has been paying attention can answer that. Gordon Brown had made it extremely obvious that this was a matter he was very interested in and that he was firmly on the side of the McCanns. What the reason for that "special interest" was is of course a matter of great mystery and speculation. If one wants to be generous to Brown one might say it was that like many others he has been hoodwinked by their PR prowess. The problem with that is that by assigning them Clarence Mitchell he himself was responsible for much of the spin that has let them off the hook. We might also note that courtesy of wiki leaks we know that the British Ambassador to Portugal, whose job it would have been to brief Brown and the Foreign Office was well aware that the evidence of Grimes and his dogs looked very bleak for the McCanns as he briefed the US Ambassador as much. Moreover Ambassador Buck decided to end his 13 year career in the Diplomatic Service in August 2007 just after Eddie and Keela had made it next to impossible for a reasonable person witha good knowledge of the case, to continue believing in the McCann’s innocence. So as the EU Supreme Court itself has opined, the fact that there was supposedly an insufficiency of evidence to convict the McCanns should not be interpreted as an absence of guilt. What this implies is that the reason Cameron gave for preventing OG from looking at non abduction scenarios was absolute hogwash. Now I am willing to give Cameron the benefit of the doubt and suppose that he is a compassionate but not very bright person who (as with Brexit) had not fully thought through the implications of his decisions. However, the Home Secretary (Theresa May) or the Head of the Met Sir Paul Stephenson ought to have realised this was lunacy, and was directly against the basic tenets of any such police enquiry which is to start with a tabula rasa and take nothing for granted. Sadly Paul Stephenson was at the time becoming embroiled in his own resignation scandal and a couple of months later would resign because of inappropriate financial links to Neil Wallis, former Executive Editor of........The News of the World (owned by Rupert Murdock and controlled by his favourite, News International CEO Rebekah Brooks) . Now you may well ask who was the motivating force behind Cameron, May and Stephenson's willingness to set up Operation Grange with the insane restriction on its remit? Well the answer to this is Rebekah Brooks, Rupert Murdock's favourite henchwoman and then CEO of News International the Parent company of News of the World, The Sun and The Times.
